IVLP Alumni Partner with Santa Fe Council on International Relations to Host Virtual Conference for Indigenous Students

An International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) typically lasts three weeks, but the connections forged can lead to inspired ongoing collaborations that multiply the impact well-beyond the actual participants. One recent example demonstrates this beautifully featuring creative use of technology, teleconference-based exchange between schoolchildren in five countries, and spotlighting dance, music and art from indigenous communities. Honduras Mural Exchange: La Colonia 21 de Febrero, Tegucigalpa

I’m honored to represent the United States for the Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs’ (ECA) Community Engagement through the Mural Arts exchange. During the first part (March 16-27), I worked with community members from a neighborhood called La Colonia 21 de Febrero. I’m heading back to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, today to continue my program.
