2014 – It’s finally here! While, I must say that 2013 was an exceptional year in many respects, I am very excited to be a part of the exciting new developments which this new year promises.
I believe that this year presents the opportunity for great change – wherever change is necessary. I mean the kind of change that directly impacts the lives of people around the world – greater access to quality education for children; more enterpreneurship opportunities for women; advanced technology for farmers and retailers who make food more affordable for lower-middle income families; and better healthcare for infants in rural communities around the world. Imagine the kind of world we would live in if we all worked together to take on one project – just one – to improve the quality of life for somebody, somewhere around the world. I guarantee that the world would be safer, more peaceful, and signficantly more prosperous.
We know for sure that collaboration is an effective tool for inspiring change. In fact, we see the phenomenal results of collaboration through our leadership and cultural exchanges, as well as the other the unique programs which we develop and implement every day here at Meridian. That’s why we believe that greater cooperation and dialogue between U.S. and emerging leaders will lead to enhanced prosperity, security, and responsible development around the world. During our 50-plus years of experience in preparing international leaders for success, Meridian discovered one of the core charteristics of successful global leaders – the unique capacity to stretch across cultural, geographic and other boundaries to collaborate and develop effective solutions to the complex challenges facing their communities and countries.
This year, let’s work together to make life better for someone, somewhere around the world – let’s make 2014 a Year for Extraordinary Global Leadership.
