Creating Africa’s Future Leaders – PAYLP Participants Convene in D.C.

The Pan-Africa Youth Leadership Program, Meridian International Center’s newest youth leadership initiative sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, is already proving to be a success. The 24 participants, who range in age from 15-18 and represent eight different African nations, arrived in the U.S. on Sunday, April 6th. Young Iraqis Reconnect in Erbil

Marhaba from Iraq!  Meridian staff is on the road again, this time in Erbil located in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.  It is claimed that Erbil is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the World.

Meridian is implementing a two 2-day leadership programs with alumni from the Iraq Youth Leadership Exchange Program (IYLEP).  The first, focused on reuniting participants from the high school program will take place February 5-8, and the second, reconnecting participants from the university program will take place February 12-15.

Egyptian Group Fabrica begins tour of US

For many members of the Egyptian musical group Fabrica, their current visit to the United States is not their first time coming to the country. However, for many members of the audience at Busboys and Poets on January 20, 2014, it was their first time seeing an all-Egyptian group of singers performing several songs from the musical Les Miserables–especially a performance that was done entirely in colloquial Arabic.
