Meridian is thrilled to announce that Michaela Chen has been named the new Vice Chair of Meridian’s Corporate Council.
Michaela leads Boston Scientific’s international government affairs efforts, focusing on increasing BSC’s global market access opportunities. In that capacity, Michaela works with BSC’s government affairs teams in its largest markets in Europe and Asia on developing BSC’s international affairs strategy in order to influence international policies to ensure the best business environment for key BSC technologies. Michaela also leads BSC’s international advocacy with the U.S. administration and key associations and business groups in Washington, DC.
Prior to joining Boston Scientific, Michaela worked as Senior Trade Advisor at the Delegation of the European Union in Washington, DC. In her role, Michaela covered a wide range of international policy issues affecting the US – EU bilateral trade relationship. She served as the Delegation lead on services and procurement negotiations in the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).
Previously, Michaela served as Director of International Environment and Trade Policy at TechAmerica the largest tech trade association in the U.S. representing approximately 1200 technology companies. In this capacity, she covered global environmental regulations, trade policy developments and engaged in advocacy in Congress, the US Administration and foreign governments to enhance member companies’ global market access.
Michaela also worked at the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), as a Manager of Government Affairs, overseeing international affairs agenda and covering domestic competitiveness and innovation efforts and at the Washington International Trade Association (WITA), organizing trade policy and diplomatic events.
Additionally, Michaela serves on the board of the Global Business Dialogue and is a co-founder of the DC GALs (Government Affairs Ladies) group, which organizes event to increase support and networking opportunities for women engaged in public policy.
