Congratulations to Meridian’s Communications Team on the launch of our official blog, The LEAD: Leaders Engaging for Action and Dialogue. It is only fitting that – as an organization that bring leaders together – we would have an online platform where these leaders connect, exchange ideas, and stay informed.
Here at Meridian International Center, much of our work takes place behind the scenes, but the impact is far-reaching. Throughout the year, we develop and facilitate hundreds of exchanges, including numerous projects for the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program. Through these and other public diplomacy initiatives, emerging leaders are provided with the skills and techniques needed to collaboratively develop solutions to the problems facing their organizations, communities, and countries. We also conceptualize and implement dynamic programs which increase international understanding such as the American-Chinese Cultural Initiative (ACCI). With The LEAD, we look forward to demonstrating this power of exchange to build critical relationships, foster cooperation, and prepare the next generation of global leaders.
Aligned with Meridian’s vision, The LEAD provides a forum in which the world’s leading voices can share their views and collaborate on the complex challenges facing our global community. Many of these challenges impact our everyday life experiences – the cost of living, perceptions of other peoples and nations, communication, the success of our business ventures, the prevalence of to service and volunteerism, and countless more. Our actions and decisions on these issues are impacted by developments around the world and how we understand those developments. And that’s why it’s important that we – as stakeholders in all sectors and levels of society – exchange our insights and develop mutually supportive solutions to these shared challenges.
I hope that you will join us regularly on The LEAD. This blog will be integrated with our website, our programs, and the Meridian Exchange Newsletter to do what Meridian does best: help leaders make better decisions through shared experiences.
